Jump on the Bandwagon——
** join a cause, movement or party // follow a fashion that has recently become popular
~~ get/climb/hop/join/leap on the bandwagon // join a popular activity // profit from a craze // follow/join/support a trend // follow the crowd // follow the motion
!! This expression used to allude to a horse-drawn wagon bearing a brass band, commonly used in a circus parade. Such wagon was then used to carry a political candidate on speech-making campaign tours. People would jump onto the bandwagon to show their support.
During William Jennings Bryan’s presidential campaign of 1901, the phrase was extended to mean supporting the movement itself.
>> The elderly should also jump on the bandwagon and learn to use new computers and mobile phones, which will not only facilitate themselves and increase entertainment, but also increase the topics of conversation with their children and grandchildren.
>> Young people should not blindly get on the bandwagon. The most common is to spend a lot of money on famous brands, chasing movie stars, and excessive weight loss.
